The Bristol Sea Shanty Shout

September 20th and 21st 2025

The City of Bristol has an incredible maritime history, shown off along 2 nautical miles of harbourside that just keeps getting better and better. So much atmosphere and so many places to visit. Amazing things to see, brilliant pubs and world class places to eat.  

 

​That’s why, each year for the last 5 years we have come together around the harbour to celebrate the story of the Bristol sailor in song.

 

​Bristol has more salty singing talent than any other city in the UK so we will gather together in September along with some of  best sea shanty crews, groups and choirs from counties within a day's sail. 

​

​​​This year we are running things a little differently, with performances over 2 days at Underfall Yard, (two stages) and the Great Eastern Hall at the SS Great Britain. 

​​

Our evening sessions have become a bit crazy in recent years so for 2025 you can secure a place with an advance ticket - just £10. As always, all our proceeds go to charity. 

​

So, expect a full house, rousing shanties, wonderful tales of the sea in song, great beer and great food.
